When do you know something is really good? How about when its good enough to put it on one of the few legendary weapons WoW has? As many of you know with the introduction of Ulduar blizzard implemented on the game the first level 80 legendary they made it a one handed mace for healers as shown here: Val'anyr, Hammer of Ancient Kings as more raid came out and the gear started to get higher and higher this mace became less and less good stat wise, but what makes it legendary you ask? well simply Blessing of Ancient Kings will always make it legendary even at level 85 who knows. The reson is the better the gear the bigger the heals, the bigger the heals the bigger the shields.
Now you might think that blizzard came out with this idea after patch 3.0, well think again because it was just a copy of a trinket dropped by Viscidus an optional boss in the Temple of Ahn'Qiraj ( 40 ), a giant slime with quite interesting mechanics that I hope to see more often in Cataclysm. and here is the trinket Scarab Brooch tada!
This trinket is a use trinket and when you click it you have a 100% chance to shield any friendly allies that are hit with ANY of your healing spells. The good thing about it is that you can basically chose when you want to be able to shield people rather than the 10% proc chance on the weapon. This does not make this trinket better than a weapon of course because the weapon might not have the best stats but it has something and the trinket just has nothing, but if you can get your hands in a 284 item level LK H weapon like Royal Scepter of Terenas II I personally think you you change it with the legendary for some fight where its shields turn out to be at the bottom of your healing done, and the best you can do is use the legendary weapon and the trinket at the same time for damage heavy fights and time you weapon proc and once its up use your trinket and boom it became 30% shields and with the current 25% ICC raid buff its just stupidly crazy we finally can beat priest! ( not really that will never happen)

Hey lets have a look at what cataclysm has upcoming and under construction for paladins :D
First off altho most of you already know the old 76 point based talent trees are gone from the beta and a new 31 points core talent trees have been added to all classes. When you select what path or spec you want to follow on your character before any points are spent you will receive something called primary skills which will basically help your character fulfill the specific role. I will only go over holy primary skills and talent changes since that's what interests me the most.
Primary Skills:

Boom, right out as you click yes I want to be a healer! Ok with the new talent system you MUST spend 31 ( least ) points into the holy tree in order to be able to put points into the prot/ret tree. It is quite easy to come up with a spec something like this : 33/3/5 and sad to say that for a PvP holy is something like this 38/0/3. Ok lets go straight to how "I think" healing will run down for us in cata.

Flash of Light costs way more mana about as much as a current HL costs just a bit more and heals for way more about a non crit HL as of 3.5 12k-14k. It is not affected by beacon which doesn't make this ability as efficient for tank healing.
Holy Light cost as much as a current FoL even less! and heals for a lot less than it currently does. DOES WORK WITH BEACON OF LIGHT!
Well Holy Shock its basically free >.< style="color: rgb(255, 0, 0);">DOES WORK WITH BEACON OF LIGHT! which makes this a very very useful spell for us not as of right now where is kind of doll.
Divine Light is the ohh shit incoming undergeared tank tanking H festergut after he absorbs blight! heals for A LOT about 21-30k crits for an icc 10m geared paladin. Sadly it is not affected by beacon of light so this is totally something we don't want to spam due to its humongous mana cost.

Those are the basic healing spells ( note that I am not including the new 80+ spells since I have not yet had a chance to test them )

Talents
I will only go over the ones that are really amazing...wait that will be all of them >.<

There is no doubt that Judgement spells will be a big deal for cataclysm which it should I mean what makes us paladins? ok so in the first tier there are some interesting talents among these Sanctified Light and Divinity which was moved from the protection tree over to holy.
As soon as we move to second tier we start to get sad as we see Judgements of the Pure got nerfed from 15% haste down to 9% haste.
But not all hope is lost since once we reach tier 3 we get 4 very awesome talents among these Inspired Judgement see i told you judgements are a big deal :D and Beacon of Light Change as well more nerf than change but hey gotta keep our hopes up! following this comes Illumination who now refund mana on EVERY critical strike this includes judgements, crusader strikes every single spell we have and lastly as explained earlier Divine Light out new big heal.
As we reach the layers of awesomeness we face ourselves with out 4th tier and yet another nerf the Flash of Light ( HoT ) is gone for good.
Nothing here but the simple cleanse mechanic that every cleanser class got so not be able to remove magic unless your a healer and you spec in it Sacred Cleansing
Aha enough pain said blizzard in a slow taunting voice its time for some cool mechanics as he blessed us with Purifying Power this is another prove to my statement Judgements will be a big deal again ohh I sure miss those days raiding MC and being awesome. Not only blizzard decided to make us more involved in doing damage and smacking the boss as healers but they also want to make sure we are not selfish with Selfless Healer
Ahh but not all that glitter is paladin... as we face out Divine Illumination yet again we do not deserve such awesomeness as healers lets just give them crit instead. Honestly I am only specced into it because we have to other wise I will find interest somewhere else any ways I just think we won't use this as often.

Well that is about it for now as I get more information I will make sure to get back and edit/delete things that might happen don't forget this is all under beta so I will only give things careless attention. Don't you just love when there is an instance / raid where every single drop is BIS for you? I bet you do well at least if your loot system is fair ( which most are ) and isn't it awesome how you have to compete with everyone in the raid and earn their hate slowly? i hope not but well here it is:

Well I finally did it, I decided to faction change from Aliance to Horde. I was trolling on the AH looking for deals when i found an interesting item which i bought Lei of Lilies does not look that amazing but we can use its conjured item Lily Root as another way to min max along with Dark Rune etc altho they both share same CD dark rune has 15m lily has 2m so you can use dark rune ASAP then 2m in the fight use lily. Well i have to go now look for a life at craiglist and ebay brb.

Yet again mana regen

I recommend before you continue reading go to Zabery.com and read this post on the topic I'm going to talk about, which is using Shield of Righteousness for mana regen using Seal of Wisdom.
Zabery did an excellent and very accurate explanation of how it works, in a simple very few lines explanation the whole big deal about it is that SoR has a chance just like melee swings to proc SoW which can mean getting the proc from SoR and melee swing in the same GCD leading us to obtain 8% of our full mana in just one global better than 4% by just mele swing. You don't wanna use it very often like Zabery explained can HURT YOUR HEALING VERY BADLY but it is always a tool to keep in handy when mana is an issue. Also think about it, if you have to DPS the boss for mana is either because you are OOM or because there is no healing necessary on that period of time and if you are already meleing the boss why will you say no to SoR if you can get more mana for the price of one GCD.

LUI with a touch, Why ret is awesome!

So this is how I personalized LUI it pretty much has everything I need for raid including a DTPS graph ( Damage Taken Per Second ) which is great for knowing when to use Divine Plea also has Vuhdo for healing instead of Grid / healbot. In my opinion Vuhdo is awesome click here to download.

Healing UI

First thing you need as a healer is a good User Interface, but what is a good UI. Well in genera a good UI should have all the raid information you need to raid as well as be as clean as possible so you don't say "I didn't see that void zone". There is many things that some people may need to raid but finding all of this together and clean is what may be hard. Well look not further I found a UI that is just for you.
This is what the UI looks like by default:To the bottom in the middle is your spell bars ( maxx is 3 ) to the right of it is Recount, and to the right of that is Grid (come by default along with clique)
To the left of the spell bar is Omen Threat Meter and to the left of that is you chat.

This is what it looks like to me in combat with Recount and Omen hidden.
Now I did not change much I just disabled a couple of things that I found useless and added some addons. Among there are AVR encounters ( its getting disbanded by blizzard in 3.3.5 ) and Deadly Boss Mods.
This UI is not the best but however comes with almost all you need as a healer or any class in general.

How to install it.
Easy click HERE it will take you to the LUI website where you have to click Download. Proceed to download the zipped folder and once downloaded extract all files. Head to your world of warcraft folder by default is on C:\World of Warcraft. Proceed to delete the folder named " Interface" ATTENTION : (It is recommended to save a copy of your OLD interface folder in case LUI is not for you) once the Interface folder is deleted drag your extracted folder named WoW LUI to your world of warcraft folder and re-name it Interface. You are now ready to log in, don't worrie your screen will not look like a mess. You should see the following picture if the installation process went right.Just click install you game will re-load and boom you got your self an awesome UI.
